Austin Bonsai Society Guest Artist: Sylvia Smith

Come join us for our monthly Austin Bonsai Society meeting with guest speaker Sylvia Smith! Sylvia of BonsaiSmiths will be sharing with us her vast knowledge of over 30 years in bonsai. Come see her work on a Juniper bonsai and learn what it takes to style bonsai from a highly skilled bonsai professional.

Sylvia Smith is a multi-award winning bonsai artist based out of Dallas, Texas. She is the co-owner and operator of BonsaiSmiths with her husband, Howard Smith. Sylvia has been in bonsai for over 30 years and is one of the first graduating students of renowned bonsai artist Boon Manakitivipart. In addition to giving lectures and demos on bonsai, Sylvia serves on the American Bonsai Society Board of Directors and is co-curator the Bonsai Collection at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens slated to be opened sometime in 2025.
