Austin Bonsai Society Meeting: Carving Deadwood on Bonsai

Join the Austin Bonsai Society for a demonstration on carving and creating deadwood on bonsai by our visiting artist, Adam Lavigne. Come learn about bonsai carving to create the illusion of age on a tree, as well as techniques on how to create natural-looking features to enhance a tree’s character. Adam will be working on a Tiger Bark Ficus (Ficus microcarpa) that was donated to The Texas State Bonsai Exhibit in 2016. Join us to learn about this bonsai technique and have a chance to win the demo tree, which will be raffled off at the meeting.

Speaker Bio: Adam Lavigne is a renowned bonsai artist from Central Florida who specializes in deadwood carving. As a touring bonsai artist, Adam offers demonstrations and workshops to various bonsai clubs and nurseries across the country.
