Austin Butterfly Forum’s June Meeting with Speaker Chris Rorabaugh

Florida’s Vulnerable Habitats and the Insects that Depend on Them

June 23 @ 7:00 pm 8:45 pm

Open to the Public, Free to Attend

Join us for the June 2025 meeting of the Austin Butterfly Forum, an AAGC-affiliated club. We’ll
begin with club news and updates, followed by a fascinating presentation from our guest speaker.
While Florida is known for its beaches and theme parks, it’s also home to an astonishing range of
habitats—from coastal plains and Caribbean forests to arid scrublands and lush wetlands. These
ecosystems, however, face serious threats from development, invasive species, climate change, and
fire suppression. Learn about Florida’s most vulnerable habitats and the incredible insects that rely
on them. Don’t miss this eye-opening journey into Florida’s hidden biodiversity!

Chris Rorabaugh is a nature enthusiast based out of Orlando, FL who has been obsessed with
bugs of all types since he was a kid. Although his education and career is in IT / Software
Engineering, he spends most of his free time out photographing wild Florida and all the
amazing biodiversity it has to offer.
