Join us for a cocktail tasting featuring Don Rico Tequila and a tour of the Cactus and Succulent Collection!
Enjoy cocktails made from plants that can be found right here in the Garden while learning more about the distillation process. Don Rico Tequila will be featuring their 100% de agave tequila varieties with a live mixology demonstration as their owner and founder Rick “Rico” Olivo shares information about their history and production.
Your ticket includes hand-crafted cocktails and a guided tour of the Garden’s Cactus and Succulent Collection from Conservancy Curator Jeff Pavlat.
About Don Rico Tequila
Rick “Rico” Olivo was introduced to the world of 100% de agave tequila in 2008 when he became general counsel of a national tequila brand. Rick grew a new appreciation and love for this sweet elixir from Mexico and set out to learn as much as possible in the years that followed.
His journey included many trips to Jalisco, hundreds of tequila tastings, and new friendships in the industry that guided him toward a new vision: to share his life-changing experience with the world. Together with family and friends, they developed a small batch, traditional tequila that symbolizes friendships and creates lasting memories.

- Time & Location: Meet us at 6 PM inside the Auditorium, adjacent to the Gift Shop.
- Important Note: This event takes place in both the Auditorium and Collection Greenhouse, which is about a 10-minute walk from the Auditorium, located at the back of the Garden’s horticultural area. Please wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking.
