SUMMARY:Community Ofrenda
DESCRIPTION:This fall\, we invite you to take part in our Community Ofrenda\, a special space of remembrance and celebration\, open from October 1st through November 2nd. In honor of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)\, the ofrenda will serve as a collective altar where community members can pay tribute to loved ones who have passed. \n\n\n\nWalk-in visitors are welcome to bring items and photos to add to the community ofrenda. To reserve a dedicated space for your ofrenda\, please sign up via this link: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou’re welcome to contribute photos\, notes\, small mementos\, paper marigolds\, or other meaningful items to help build this shared expression of memory\, family\, and love – see our full guidelines below. \n\n\n\n\n\nEste otoño\, le invitamos a participar en nuestro Ofrenda de la Comunidad\, un espacio especial de recuerdo y celebración\, abierta del 1 de Octubre hasta el 2 de Noviembre. Please make sure you can remove your ofrenda by November 3 before signing up to build!  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaterials \n\n\n\nPlease use natural\, biodegradable\, or reusable materials whenever possible.  \n\n\n\nRecommended: \n\n\n\n\nCardboard\, paperboard\, or reclaimed wood \n\n\n\n\n\nCloth (cotton\, muslin\, linen) for table coverings \n\n\n\n\n\nFresh or dried flowers\, leaves\, seed pods \n\n\n\n\n\nPapel picado  \n\n\n\n\n\nClay or ceramic vessels\, gourds\, baskets to place offerings into\n\n\n\n\n\nBeeswax candles (unlit) or LED tealights  \n\n\n\n\n\nPhotographs \n\n\n\n\n\nSalt \n\n\n\n\n\nMementos representing hobbies\, passions\, or the identity of the deceased \n\n\n\n\nAvoid: \n\n\n\n\nPlastic\, Styrofoam\, vinyl\, glitter\, or synthetic fabrics \n\n\n\n\n\nSingle-use decorations that cannot be composted or reused \n\n\n\n\n\nPerishable food\, open beverages\, or oversized items.  \n\n\n\n\n\nPhotos or symbolic representations of food and drink are encouraged instead of the real thing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDimensions \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach altar must fit on provided tables lining the walls.  \n\n\n\n\nPhotograph-only: Bring a photograph and post it on the bulletin board space (max of 8×10).
