Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at our Dog Days of Summer event presented by The Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy, ZilkerBark and CityVet! Bring your furry friends and family for a morning filled with fun for pups of all ages!

Dog + Owner Look-Alike Contest
Do you and your dog look alike? Act alike? Dress alike?
Maybe you share the same hair, same attitude, or maybe you just both look good in plaid. Whether it’s matching outfits, similar features, or pure chaotic energy, we want to see what makes you and your pup the perfect pair. Join us for the Owner & Dog Look-alike Contest at 10:30 AM on the main stage.
ZilkerBark Pet Portraits at the Butler Window – SOLD OUT!
Zilker Botanical Garden and ZilkerBark present Dog Days of Summer — our annual celebration of Austin’s furry friends in the heart of one of the city’s most iconic outdoor spaces!
ZilkerBark portraits have sold out but a limited number of portrait spots will be available to walk-ins for $35. Portrait purchases are not required to attend the event.
Pup Cup Eating Contest at Edie’s Arbor
There’s nothing better than watching your dog enjoy a tiny cup of joy by sticking their nose straight in it – now let’s multiply that cuteness!
It’s a race to the bottom of the bowl! During the event, sign your pup up for a whipped cream showdown! Fastest snout from each rounds wins a prize. We’ll have heats running every 15 minutes in Edie’s Arbor in the Oak Grove.
Bark Ranger Classes in the Auditorium
Learn how to safely explore Austin’s parks with your pup while protecting local wildlife and habitats. All participants—furry and human—will earn their official Bark Ranger Badge from the City of Austin Park Ranger team.
This program is open to all ages and is a great opportunity for families and dog lovers to learn together. Register at the link below!

Do you LOVE dogs? Have a knack for making doggy flower crowns? Do you like meeting new people and pups?!
Come help greet guests and lead pet-themed activities in the Zilker Botanical Garden for the annual Dog Day celebration. Visitors are invited to bring their dogs to the Garden for an exciting morning with the whole family. Volunteers will help with activities that help fundraise for the Conservancy.
