Learn to Grow Beautiful Orchids | National Garden Week presented by ZBGC, AAGC and Heart of Texas Orchid Society
June 7 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
This workshop is perfect for those who are tired of killing orchids and want to move on to growing and blooming healthy plants. Experienced members of the Heart of Texas Orchid Society will cover the major points of orchid culture: water, light, temperature, fertilization, pest and disease control and how to re-pot orchids.
The workshop leaders, Alison Gallaway, Monica Gaylord, and Pat Pingleton, have killed their fair share of orchids and learned a lesson with each one. They grow a wide assortment of orchids in different environments. They will share what works for them.

Each of them have grown orchids for more than a decade and serve as officers on the Heart of Texas Orchid Society’s Board of Directors. They hope that you will find their passion for orchids inspiring.
The workshop is interactive. Attendees can ask questions. Time permitting, the society will share recommendations for local vendors who sell orchids and related supplies and trustworthy sources of information about orchid culture. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be a break midway through the workshop.
