SUMMARY:Microgreen Workshop with Austin Organic Gardeners
DESCRIPTION:Get a hands-on lesson on growing fresh microgreens in the comfort of your own home within a week’s time! Learn how to select seeds and a growing container\, and get set up to grow using your windowsill\, office lights\, or grow lights. \n\n\n\nLocation: Zilker Botanical Garden in the Oak GroveCost: Donations accepted by AOG for supplies and for the educators. Register here and purchase General Admission tickets to ZBG in advance or upon arrival. This program is free for ZBGC members. ​What to Bring: Your own mason jars (with lids)\, a spare colander\, a plastic take out container\, or a nursery tray to set up for success with growing microgreens. We will provide a portfolio of seeds to choose from and the growing media. \n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter\n\n\n\nAustin\, from Austin\, is a long-time gardener and farm nerd in the central Texas scene. Through volunteer farming and outreach he actively pursues ways to improve the local food system with the aim of cultivating community.
