National Garden Week Kickoff Expo

As part of the event’s celebration of the Garden’s history, community partnerships, and educational programs, Austin Area Garden Council will share highlights from its 70-year history during guided Garden tours and provide information about its archive collection being donated to the Austin History Center. AAGC member garden clubs also invite you to enjoy demonstrations and activities while learning more about their clubs, which meet monthly at the Garden Center.

Austin Area Begonia Society will have begonias for sale, and tips to help you to take care of your new plant friend.

Austin Cactus and Succulent Society has cactus and succulent cuttings, and giveaways like small pots and supplies for visitors to start their own “new” succulent plant, and info on how to propagate succulents from leaves.

Austin Herb Society will have samples of things you can make with herbs, from herb butter and herb salt, to scarves and bags in beautiful colors dyed with herbs!

The Barton Hills Garden Club will share tips on how to create beautiful flowers in your landscape and decorate your home and table with seasonal touches.

First Austin African Violet Society will be give away African violet leaves with instructions on how to grow them into a plant! Be inspired by the display of African violet and gesneriad plants.

Porcelain Art Club shows you how to paint on porcelain and will have jewelry boxes, plates, and cups for you to find a gift for that special person.

Austin Daylily Society will lead tours of the Daylily Beds in the Mabel Davis Rose Garden at 11 am and 1 pm. Plan your visit to be there and learn from the best daylily growers in Austin!

The Garden Club of Austin hosts “Homegrown Austin” its Annual Plant and Flower show with an abundance of natives, vegetables and unusual plants!
