The Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy will be hosting 4 Summer Camp sessions in June focused on plant education, culinary uses of plants, and exploring the outdoors. This is the perfect way to kick off summer with a fun educational twist!

Session 1
ZBG Garden Camp: (7-8-year-olds) June 5th – 9th 8:30-12:00 PM
Description: Campers 7-8 years old will join in adventures through Zilker Botanical Garden exploring our themed gardens and learning about the science and art of plants. Learn how to break seed dormancy, create a miniature Japanese-inspired garden, and extract pigments from leaves and flowers.
Fee: $225
Ratio: 1 Instructor to 12 campers
Instructor: Matthew Gaston with Guest Instructor Allison Lash
What to Bring: Snacks, a water bottle, walking shoes, and sunscreen.
Wear: Play clothes and sneakers that can get dirty and damp
Drop-Off: 8:15-8:30 at Zilker Botanical Garden at the Garden Center
Pick-Up: 12:00-12:15 at Zilker Botanical Garden at the Garden Center

Session 2
ZBG Culinary Camp: (7-8-year-olds) June 5th – 9th 1:00-4:00 PM
Description: Campers 7-8 years old will join in adventures through Zilker Botanical Garden exploring the culinary uses of plants and learning how to have fun making healthy snacks in the form of charcuterie boards! We will explore the various themed gardens and create boards based on these themes (i.e. Picnic, Prehistoric, Japanese Inspired, Bee, and Herb). In addition to eating our boards, we will learn food science, motor skills, and how to be more independent in the kitchen while being safe. Our colorful boards will include delicious fruits and veggies. Bon appétit!
