Zilker Botanical Garden Vision Plan Phase 1 – Learn More Here

Support ZBG

Zilker Botanical Garden— 28 acres of gardens, often called “the jewel in the heart of Austin”—is a unique collaboration between the Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy (ZBGC), the city’s Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) and the Austin Area Garden Council (AAGC). The garden is open to the public year-round and is enjoyed by over 125,000 visitors each year, including thousands of school children from Austin and surrounding communities.

From AAGC garden club workshops and plant sales throughout the year, to docent-led tours and family-friendly events, there are countless ways members and visitors can enjoy Zilker Botanical Garden. For admission cost and photography fees visit here.

In Fall of 2019, the Conservancy entered into a public/private partnership to provide greater financial support to the Garden and to improve the visitor experience. This transition allows for dramatic changes in what visitors see, enjoy, and learn from the Garden. Increased support allows for more features, more events, and more programming. Together, PARD, the AAGC and the ZBGC envision a bright future for the Zilker Botanical Garden.

The Conservancy is focused on generating funding for a new master plan to address accessibility issues such as ADA compliance and parking. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for the master plan. Through the partnership between PARD, the Conservancy and the AAGC to date, a number of enhancements have been completed: transformation of a stream by the Taniguchi Japanese Garden into a beautiful riparian garden, expansion of the Oak Grove event space, and exposing the Herb Garden to full sunlight again.

Your support of Zilker Botanical Garden Conservancy is vital to sustaining the world-class botanical garden. A variety of giving opportunities provide a way to show your support and ensure the future of the garden:
