Beginning June 3rd, the Garden will be open until 8pm on Thursdays.
The garden is open to the public 7 days a week, year-round. The garden is closed for major holidays and (typically during Austin City Limits Fest.) The garden opens at 9 am daily and closes at 6 pm, with final entry 30 minutes prior to closing.
In 2021, Zilker Botanical Garden will be closed on New Year’s Day, The Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Becoming a member today allows you unlimited access to the Garden for the next year as well as reciprocal access to all American Horticulture Society gardens: 330-plus gardens, arboretum, and conservatories in the country, including Lady Bird Wildflower Center in Austin. General admission tickets cover residents and non-residents of Austin. Details and prices are listed below. To purchase general admission tickets, click the button above. When you arrive at Zilker Botanical Garden, you will be scanned in with a QR code that will be sent to your email. The admission entry time that you select is the time during which you are expected to arrive at the garden, and does not limit the length of your visit.
The Woodland Faerie Trail opens May 29 and is included in the price of admission.
Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free access to Zilker Botanical Garden. You can reserve your tickets at the link below. When you arrive at Zilker Botanical Garden, you will be scanned in with a QR code that will be sent to your email. You will also be asked to present your EBT card. Zilker Botanical Garden invites all families with Electronic Benefits Transfer cards, WIC cards, STAR cards, CHIP cards, Medicaid cards and MAP identification cards to show their card(s) to receive FREE General Admission tickets. Maintaining affordable access for everyone is a top priority for ZBG.
Zilker Botanical Garden participates in the American Horticulture Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP) which entitles you to special admission privileges and discounts at 330+ gardens throughout North America. Free Days at the Zilker Botanical Garden

On Free Days, no admission price is required, but donations are always welcome.
The Garden is a sanctuary, a place to be in touch with the seasons and refresh our spirits. That is why the City of Austin in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department offers “free days” to Zilker Botanical Garden, thus waiving visitor fees. Due to Covid-19 capacity limits, reservations must be made online prior to admission to the garden.
Please reserve tickets via the link to ensure you arrive at the garden during the specified time and enter with limited contact.
ADA access is available at the entrance on Barton Springs Drive.
Please enjoy your visit! At the admission kiosk, staff will scan your ticket from your phone or printed receipt to allow entrance to the garden. Be sure your entire party checks in together during the time frame purchased. All guests are asked to adhere to safe social distancing guidelines. Re-entry is not currently permitted.
