FAQs

Where do I park?

Our main parking lot can be accessed through the front entrance of the garden. In the event that overflow parking is needed, our overflow lot at 2300 Stratford drive will be open. If you park in the overflow lot, you can enter directly across the street through the Hartman Gate at the back entrance. This is a highly ornamental gate and is easily recognizable.

Please note— The Garden is currently experiencing very heavy visitation on weekends and free days. To provide the easiest access and best customer service possible, we will be using the alternative parking at the back entrance when the upper parking lot reaches capacity. Please follow signs to park in the gravel lot located at 2300 Stratford Drive, and walk across the street to enter the Garden through the Hartman Gate. (Please do NOT walk back to Barton Springs and up to the main/front entrance. This is a very busy road and is not safe.)

Is the Gift Shop open?

Yes! As of January 2022, the Gift Shop is open 9am-5pm on weekends and 10am-5pm on weekdays.

Can I rent a space at the garden for a wedding?

We’d love to have you! A variety of locations both indoors and out are available for rental. The Garden is a frequent site for weddings, meetings, memorial services, and a variety of other gatherings. Please follow this link for more information. We are working to get this information online and expect to have it available soon.

Are dogs allowed in the garden?

Absolutely! As long as they’re on a fixed leash, we welcome our furry friends! We recommend that you bring your own pickup supplies. Dogs are welcome any day, except for certain special events such as the Woodland Faerie Trail by Moonlight.

What’s the policy for bikes and scooters in the garden?

Rental bikes and scooters are NOT allowed on garden grounds. They must be left outside the garden entrance. Bikes may NOT be ridden in the Garden or on the trails, and must be left properly parked in the parking lot.

What days will the garden be closed?

The garden will be closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. In addition to these days, we will also be closed during the Zilker Kite Festival and the weekends of Austin City Limits. All other days of the year will be normal hours of operation unless stated otherwise.

What’s your photography policy?

This fee covers the photographer and admission for one individual. All photography sessions must be purchased online here. The fee is not required for photography via phone.
