Each February the Garden celebrates the Cretaceous period with partners like the Austin Nature and Science Center & the Paleontological Society of Austin to provide engaging learning opportunities during Dino Days. Activities include fossil finds, a lesson in spore-bearing plants and plant evolution, and more! Learn more here.
The Conservancy partners with local yoga instructors to offer a variety of wellness opportunities in the shade of the Rose Garden. In Fall 2023, we will expand our offerings to include family yoga and toddler yoga. Wellness offerings are ticketed. More information coming soon!
The Roots & Wings Festival originated at the Zilker Botanical Garden, and the Garden remains a key host site for the festival. In October, the 6th annual celebration will include a walk-through butterfly tent, butterfly releases, monarch tagging, and tree climbs. Attendance is included with admission, free for members. In December, the Conservancy will host its third annual Yule Celebration, with nature-based activities and family crafts. A local string quartet will play festive music and local vendors will provide holiday treats. Yule in the Garden is included with admission and free for members.
