Join us for the Heart of Texas Orchid Society’s monthly meeting where George Vasquez will share his insights about how the American Orchid Society judges Phalaenopsis Orchids.
About the Presenter
George Vasquez is a second-generation orchid grower of 46 years. He is proud to have worked
alongside his father, Amado Vasquez, at their family business Zuma Canyon Orchids, which has
received well over 600 Phaleanopsis American Orchid Society awards. Amado, himself was a
recipient of the IPA Lifetime Achievement Award. When Amado retired as CEO at 67, George took over as president. With over 40 year’s experience as an AOS judge, George was voted by the AOS Board of Trustees the honorary status as Judge Emeritus in 2017. e is also a Life member of the AOS.
