Herbs in the Landscape, presented by John Dromgoole

John Dromgoole is a long-time supporter and friend of Zilker Botanical Garden and one of the first Austin Herb Society members and sponsors. John will share his knowledge about incorporating herbs into existing landscapes to provide beauty, diversity, shape, and, of course, culinary uses. 

A native of Laredo, John moved to Austin in the early 70s and became part of the newly-emerging natural foods and organic gardening scene.  In 1982, he opened his first store in partnership with GardenVille and operated this business until 1993, when he purchased an old eight-acre homestead on Old Bee Caves Road.  This became The Natural Gardener, a retail organic garden center and a beloved destination for so many of us.  Today, John is still deeply involved in organics and environmental issues, and is one of the nation’s foremost champions of organic gardening, an enduring radio host, TV personality, and public speaker
