Japanese Flower Arrangement
February 2 @ 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Join us for the Austin Ikebana Group’s February Japanese Flower Arrangement event. Our presenter, Anita Inglis, will guide us through a Sogetsu Ikebana Lesson, focusing first on a mass arrangement, then exploring the incorporation of lines, whether straight or curved, in the second part of the lesson.
This event is free to the public and open to attend as guest observers in person or via Zoom. With limited seats in the Auditorium, pre-registration is required. Please email to austinikebanagroup@gmail.com, so that we can plan for your attendance.
About the Presenter
Anita Ashton Inglis developed her interests of Ikebana study from her mother, who learned it in Nagasaki in 1937, and her Aunt, who studied the Sogetsu Ikebana in Japan after WWII.
Anita has studied in both the Ichiyo School and the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. She is a member of the Monterey Bay chapter of Ikebana International. While spending time at their home in California she studied extensively with several of the masters of Ikebana in the San Francisco and Carmel areas. She qualified as an instructor in the Sogetsu School in 2015.
