TWiG (Talks and Walks in the Garden): How to Make Insect Hotels

July 13, 2023 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm

Included with admission, free for Conservancy members

Judith Craft, Special Projects Coordinator at Zilker Botanical Garden, will be refurbishing the Garden’s insect hotels. She’ll use a collection of natural materials insects love to snug into, including bamboo. You’ll learn how to make insect hotels as Judith demonstrates what is needed to provide a safe hideaway for your yard. That caterpillar you accommodate might just become a beautiful butterfly to pollinate your garden!

Judith Craft is a longtime gardener and was VP of Horticulture at Austin Herb Society for many years. She now works for Zilker Botanical Garden as Special Projects Coordinator, and you will see her all over the garden!

We will meet by the Blacksmith’s Shop in Zilker Botanical Garden’s Pioneer Settlement.
