Drama-Based Pedagogy Garden Docent Training

Have you ever wanted to lead field trips and educate folks on the flora and fauna of the Garden? Are you interested in learning new educational techniques to implement in your classroom or on a tour? Why not attend this special Docent Training with Artist-in-Residence Khristian Mendez Aguirre as he facilitates a fun, interactive session on Drama-Based Pedagogy. With a focus on educational volunteering at Zilker Botanical Garden, all educators are welcome to attend.

About the Instructor

Artist-in-Residence Khristián Méndez Aguirre is a local award-winning director, founder of Teatro de la Tierra, and Lecturer in Theatre at Princeton University. He directed two productions at the Garden, “Estado Vegetal” and “Beto, Beto, el Abeto”. We are fortunate to have him bringing his expertise in Drama-Based Pedagogy to train our educational staff and volunteers.

This Docent Training is in part supported by funding from the City of Austin Economic Development Department through the Elevate Grant.
