Legends & Folklore of Texas Wildflowers

February 15, 2023 @ 10:00 am 11:30 am

Open to the public, free to attend

Marlene Gillman will reveal interesting stories behind native Texas wildflowers. She will share with us fun facts, local lore, and blooming tales about the most interesting Texas wildflowers. The Texas bluebonnet is singled out for its floral tapestry, perhaps because it tends to be among the first colorful flowers to appear each spring.

Marlene Gillman is a master gardener from the Killeen Garden Club. Marlene Gillman works as a Recording Secretary at Texas Garden Clubs, which is a Non-Profit & Charitable company. She has been a Texas Garden Club member for the past 22 years plus and has been a District Director, Trustee for District V, and Vice President of Youth for TGC. She has also worked in the Killeen Independent School District as a Library Clerk and has been active in both the Boy and Girl Scouts.
