First Austin African Violet Society

The First Austin African Violet Society (FAAVS) was established in 1964. We are members of the African Violet Society of America, Lone Star African Violet Council, and the Austin Area Garden Council. Our goals are to provide education about propagation and culture and stimulate public interest in growing and showing African Violets and other gesneriads.

Membership is open to all interested individuals. We have an annual spring judged show and plant/supplies sale in March as well as a fall plant sale in October at the Austin Area Garden Center. We also have a sister club that meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month in Round Rock for those people who can’t meet during the week. Please contact faavs@yahoo.com if you are interested in joining our club or for additional information.
